Self-Hosted pgDash

Deploy pgDash within your own environment for maximum control while ensuring the ongoing health and performance of your PostgreSQL deployment. Our self-hosted option provides functionally identical features to our SaaS solution, available for Pro and Enterprise customers.

Full Monitoring Features On-Premise

The self-hosted version includes the full suite of innovative diagnostic and monitoring features to provide a comprehensive monitoring model, regardless of where pgDash is deployed.

Core Monitoring Capabilities:

Monitor hundreds of pieces of information, including:

  • Query Analysis: Extensive information about each SQL query executed, including execution plan visualization and suggestions to improve performance.
  • Replication Metrics: Monitor extensive replication metrics, including lags at primary and standby servers, and standby recovery progress.
  • Diagnostics: Automatically analyze your PostgreSQL servers and databases and highlight potential issues.
  • Ecosystem Monitoring: Collect metrics from associated systems like PgBouncer and Pgpool for a comprehensive system-level picture.

Have a look at all the pgDash features on the Features page. All are available in the self-hosted version.

Key Feature Parity Highlights:
  • Team Collaboration: Team sharing is fully supported, allowing you to share access to particular databases with team members who need to stay in the loop.
  • Advanced Alerts: Includes both Basic Alerting and Change Alerts to notify you about important database changes.
  • AI-Enhanced Chat: Access the AI-enhanced chat feature to ask questions and get answers about the status, configuration and performance of your PostgreSQL server in natural language.

Easy Deployment

Our self-hosted solution is designed to be quick and straightforward to install. You can run pgDash yourself within a secure, even air-gapped, deployment environment while maintaining the same compatibility and ease of use as the SaaS version. pgDash does not require any outgoing internet connectivity for any feature (other than AI-enhanced chat which will be enabled only if you choose to).

How Self-Hosted Deployment Works:
  1. Install pgDash Server: The self-hosted pgDash server can be installed from our APT, YUM repos or directly installed from .deb or .rpm packages. Docker and Podman deployments are also supported.
  2. Collect Data: Collect PostgreSQL data, in JSON format, using our open-source tool pgmetrics.
  3. Send Data: Send it to your self-hosted pgDash instance regularly, using the pgdash command-line tool.
  4. Compatibility: pgDash works well with standard deployments and is compatible with cloud solutions, specifically AWS RDS and Aurora.

Check out the self-hosted docs for more details on deployment and configuration.
